Alltrista Plastics Corporation Announces Appointment of President

Rye, New York – May 24, 2004 – Alltrista Plastics Corporation, a subsidiary of Jarden Corporation, today announced that Charles V. Villa Jr. has been appointed President. Alltrista Plastics Corporation comprises the Plastic Consumables division of Jarden Corporation and houses both Alltrista Industrial Plastics and Unimark Plastics.

In this role, Mr. Villa will be responsible for strengthening customer relationships, improving services and developing innovative new technologies “With more than thirty years of experience in the plastics industry, Chuck makes a strong addition to the Jarden’s plastic consumables management team,” said James E. Lillie, President and Chief Operating Officer of Jarden. “This appointment reaffirms our commitment to further strengthen our plastic business and build on its prior achievements. In particular, we will look to Chuck to leverage the strong momentum generated by Unimark, which was named ‘Plastics Processor of the Year’ by Plastics News in 2003, to drive further growth across our entire plastics platform.”

Prior to joining Jarden, Mr. Villa served as the executive vice president of United Plastics Group, where he was a key member of the executive team responsible for setting and implementing strategic direction and meeting growth and profitability targets. He also implemented new business development processes that resulted in a diversified portfolio of Fortune 1000 customers and significantly increased sales. Previously, he held executive positions with several other plastics companies.
